If it turns out that there is a problem with your pet, this case will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Does your dog or cat has a heart murmur? An echocardiography (heart scan) gives us the information wether suportive heart medication should be started or not. With an echocardiography, we check :

  • if the heart is normally formed

  • it functions normally

  • we assess the severity of any valve defects

Why have an ultrasound performed? Ultrasound provides a good view of the internal organs such as the heart, lungs, stomach and intestines, spleen, liver, gallbladder, kidneys, bladder, uterus... With ultrasound, pregnancy checks are possible from 18-21 days in cats and from 28 days in dogs.

The quality of an ultrasound depends on the body structure and how cooperative your dog or cat is.

An X-ray is suitable for detecting bone fractures, pneumonia, heart size, osteoarthritis,....

If the dog - cat cannot stay imobile for a few minutes, sedation will be necessary. For X-rays of the hip joint, full anesthesia is always necessary.

As with humans, dental care for your pet is extremely important. Treatments are performed under general anesthesia.

Ophthalmology

An eye is very delicate. If you notice anything abnormal in the eye or on the eyelid of your pet, it is best not to wait too long to have it examined. Each case is assessed individually and a tailored treatment plan will be proposed. A treatment can consist of local administration of eye drops, medication in pill form or a surgical intervention.
